How Close Is Iran to Exploding Its First Nuclear Bomb?

Over the past decade Iran has been cautiously, but steadily, putting in place all the elements it needs to construct a nuclear weapon in short order. But as James R. Clapper, director of National Intelligence, told the U.S. Senate in January, while the Iranians are ?moving on that path ... we don?t believe they have actually made the decision to go ahead with a nuclear weapon.?

For several years experts have debated the possibility of a ?breakout? scenario in which Iran makes a mad dash to complete and test its first bomb before other nations can act to stop it. That would require doing as much as possible to prepare for bomb making without tripping the alarms of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the source of most good intelligence about Iran?s declared program. From that point, Iran would then race to conduct a test quickly, perhaps in as little as several weeks. How close is Iran to achieving such an option?

Let us start with what we know. Since 2006 Iran has accumulated a stockpile of low-enriched uranium (LEU), containing 5 percent of the uranium 235 isotope, putatively to fuel future civilian nuclear reactors. If Iran were to enrich this material further, to the point at which 90 percent of it was uranium 235, it would provide the core of four nuclear bombs. Since February 2010 it has also been enriching uranium to 20 percent and has recently tripled the production rates of this material. It has also experimented with centrifuges that are three to six times more efficient than the first-generation centrifuges it is currently operating (the designs for which it got from Pakistan?s nuclear god?father A. Q. Khan). These are significant steps toward making a bomb. Producing 20 percent enriched uranium requires nine tenths of the time and effort needed to make bomb-usable uranium. The IAEA suspects that although Iran may well have suspended its dedicated nuclear weapon research program in 2003, by that time it had already learned enough to be able to make such uranium into a simple, testable nuclear weapon.

The state of Iran?s declared stockpile and production capabilities is fairly well known. But it may well have undeclared capabilities, materials and know-how. In addition to the facilities at Natanz and Fordow that the IAEA inspects regularly, it is reasonable to assume that Iran has invested in hidden enrichment facilities because both Israel and the U.S. have been threatening air strikes on these targets for many years. Although no one has reported evidence that Iran has bought nuclear weapons or material from the former arsenal of the Soviet Union or from North Korea, Iran?s leaders must have considered this option as well. We know that more than one bomb?s worth of fissile material went missing after the Soviet Union collapsed.

With the centrifuges now known to be operating, from where Iran stands today it would take at least five months to produce enough material for one bomb. As more centrifuges come online and production rates improve, this timeline will shorten. But any scenario that requires months between tripping the IAEA?s alarm and testing a bomb would mean taking a huge risk of being attacked, something Iran?s supreme leader Sayyid Ali Khamenei has so far assiduously avoided.

How then could Iran produce a nuclear bomb without getting bombed? The most worrisome scenario would be for it to ?sneak out.? Iran would complete the conversion of its low-enriched uranium stockpile to 20 percent at declared facilities, as it is now doing. Simultaneously, it would install advanced centrifuges at a secret facility. At the chosen moment, it would stage an incident?say, an explosion at Fordow?that it would claim had dispersed such high levels of radioactivity that the area had to be quarantined for several weeks, making inspections impossible. (It could even blame the incident on an Israeli covert attack.) Under this cover, Iran would move the 20 percent uranium to the secret facility and complete the enrichment to weapons-grade levels. Because the U.S., Israel and the IAEA would be unable to determine whether declared stockpiles had been moved or where they had been moved to, they might find themselves unable to act. In this scenario, Iran could produce enough weapons-usable uranium to conduct a test in as little as a few weeks.

Tolkien's Advice About Relationships: Writing Real Romance ...

J.R.R. Tolkien and his wife Edith.

J.R.R. Tolkien had three sons and one daughter, and in a letter to his son Michael he discusses his views on women?s issues, marriage and the truth about men in relationships. ?In this letter written in March 1941, Tolkien is very explicit, and very wise on the subject.

As a writer, we can glean from his ideas the truth about relationships and challenge ourselves to write romantic stories that are more realistic and much more complex in nature.

1. ?Chivalry is Fantasy ? Tolkien writes: ?There is in our Western culture the romantic chivalric tradition still strong, though as a product of Christendom (yet by no means the same as Christian ethics) the times are inimical to it. ?It idealizes ?love? ? and as far as it goes can be very good, since it takes in far more than physical pleasure, and enjoins if not purity, at least fidelity, and so self-denial, ?service?, courtesy, honor, and courage? This is, of course, false and at best make-believe? (p. 48-49). ?Tolkien believes that this type of love is best kept to the fantasy of fiction and is not possible in the real world. ?It works great to make lovers swoon, and it is nice to dream about it, but he says that chivalric love makes a man forget a woman?s desires by placing her on a pedestal, idealizing her until she is not real. ??It takes, or at any rate has in the past taken, the young man?s eye off women as they are, as companions in shipwreck not guiding stars? (p. 49). ?It is the idealized woman on the cover of Cosmo who is airbrushed until she is a Barbie doll. ?Lately, as in the case of the?Twilight novels, this ideal is reversed so that the female places the male on the pedestal. ?Edward is the perfect guy who does not exist. ?Tolkien says that what this does is ?make young folk look for a ?love? that will keep them always nice and warm in a cold world, without any effort of theirs; and the incurably romantic go on looking even in the squalor of the divorce courts? (p. 49). ?It can only lead to disaster. ?Should our fiction teach our young the truth or lead them down a path of fantasy that destroys any hope of a true relationship in the future? ?I say tell the truth.

2. ?Observations About Women ? Tolkien writes: ?The sexual impulse makes women (naturally when unspoiled more unselfish) very sympathetic and understanding, or especially desirous of being so (or seeming so), and very ready to enter into all the interests, as far as they can, from ties to religion, of the young man they are attracted to? Under this impulse they can in fact often achieve very remarkable insight and understanding, even of things otherwise outside their natural range; for it is their gift to be receptive, stimulated, fertilized (in many other matters than the physical) by the male?It is their natural avenue to love? (p. 49). ?According to Tolkien, women are unique from men in that they have the innate ability to love regardless of the situation or how many times they have been hurt by the one they love. ?They are more forgiving than men in this regard, and it is in their nature to not strike back and that women only do so because the men in their lives have warped this natural nature. ?He says that ?women who are flighty, or even plain wanton ? I don?t refer to mere flirtatiousness, the sparring practice for the real combat, but to women who are too silly to take even love seriously, or are actually so depraved as to enjoy ?conquests?, or even enjoy the giving of pain ? but these are abnormalities, even though false teaching, bad upbringing, and corrupt fashions may encourage them? (p. 50). ?He does not blame the woman for her ?unnatural? behavior, but her surroundings. ?Women naturally love.

3. ?Tolkien as Feminist ? The most interesting thing he has to say about women is this: ?A young woman, even one ?economically independent? as they say now (it usually really means economic subservience to male commercial employers instead of to a father or a family), begins to think of the ?bottom drawer? and dream of a home, almost at once. ?If she really falls in love, the shipwreck may end on the rocks. ?Anyway, women are much less romantic and much more practical? They do not want a guiding star. ?They may idealize a plain young man into a hero; but they do not really need any such glamour either to fall in love or remain in it. ?It they have any delusion it is that they can ?reform? men? (p. 50). ?The first idea is feminist in that it shows that he sees women who are successful in the business world as still working in a patriarchal society according to the roles that men have defined for them. ?He seems to use a disdainful tone toward women?s roles being defined by the men in a male dominated society.

4. ?Observations About Men ? Tolkien writes: ?No man, however truly he loved his betrothed as bride as a young man, has lived faithful to her as a wife in mind and body without deliberate conscious exercise of the?will, without self-denial? When the glamour wears off, or merely works a bit thin, they think they have made a mistake, and that the real soul-mate is still to find. ?The real soul-mate too often proves to be the next sexually attractive person that comes along? (p. 51). ?Men are driven by one thing (and we all know what that is) and it is a struggle for a man to stay with one woman his entire life. ?I can say that from experience it is the love for my wife as a person that has kept me with her these 14 years. ?I suppose there is a little of the chivalric within me, but the reason I stay faithful to my wife and fight the natural desire of looking at other women is because she and I have formed not just a relationship of lovers but a relationship along the nature of what a best friend would be. ?It is no wonder that so many marriages end in divorce. ?Men are naturally prone to wander. ?Tolkien continues: ?Only a?very wise man at the?end of his life could make a sound judgement concerning whom, amongst the total possible chances, he ought most profitably have married! ?Nearly all marriages, even happy ones, are mistakes; in the sense that almost certainly (in a more perfect world, or even with a little more care in this very imperfect one) both partners might have found more suitable mates. ?But the ?real soul-mate? is the one you are actually married to? (p. 51). ?Men need to realize that the person they married is indeed someone who is perfect for them if the reasons they married them are pure and not merely sexual. ?The problem with marriage today is that people do not marry their best friend, but their best sex partner. ?If we all married our best friend, our marriages would work out much better.

5. ?Real Relationships Hurt ? There is an element of risk in any relationship, but our society has put padding on all things that could hurt us, and so we automatically think that our relationships should be the same. ?Tolkien writes: ??the truly great and splendid in this fallen world is more nearly achieved by ?failure? and suffering? (p. 52). ?We have as our guides only ?prudence, wisdom (rare in youth, too late in age), a clean heart, and fidelity of?will? (p. 52). ?I cannot count the times that my wife and I have had difficult moments in our relationship of 15 years. ?We always manage to work it out. ?If our relationship was purely sexual, it would have died out a long time ago. ?I love my wife because she loves me and cares deeply about me. ?I love my wife because she is at the core my best friend on this earth. ?The things that have been struggles for us have indeed made us stronger. ?We do not hold grudges, do not let the sun go down until we have made up, and try our best to forgive one another when we fall down.

What this means for writers:? Good relationships in fiction, relationships that will make readers want to read on, are relationships that understand the true nature of men and women, sprinkled with an element of romance (enough to make it interesting yet not unrealistic) and will have an aspect of pain and discomfort that will be that much more wonderful when those in the relationship figure out how to make it work, how to forgive one another, and how to work together. ?If we steer ourselves away from the desire as writers to please our audiences with nonsense fantasy relationships in favor of what is really necessary in the real world for these connections to work, we will not only be telling the truth, but we will be doing our world a service as well.

A Shinobi Death Poem

Many lives these two blades have taken,
As many as they have protected,
My blood covered lips speak no words,
As I stare into the blades reflection,

Blackness covers all I see and all I touch,
No feeling of pain just sorrow,
My hand loses grip of the sword I held,
And I turn to become a true shadow,

Like all nights the sun has set,
With darkness all around me,
Just one difference I see tonight,
The sun will not rise in the morning.

I'd take Austria if someone takes Hungary. Oh, and I'd love to reenact the Austrian War of Succession so I'd love it if someone took Prussia.

Screenplay Review - The Final Broadcast - ScriptShadow

Premise: A strange cult kidnaps a girl from a small town and uses a local radio talk show to promote their twisted beliefs.? About: This is the duo who wrote one of my favorite scripts from last year, ?When The Streetlights Go On? (finished #2 on last year?s Black List). Not sure if they wrote ?Broadcast? before or after ?Streetlights? but if you liked that script, you?re going to be plenty satisfied with this one.? Writers: Chris Hutton & Eddie O?Keefe Details: 127 pages - undated I?m still baffled by these writers.? I do not believe they?re only 23 years old.? Not because the writing is so specific or so good, but because they seem to understand things about life that you don?t understand without an older perspective.? I mean, when your generation?s most famous singer is Justin Bieber, you don?t reference The Beatles.? When you grow up during the Iraq War, you don?t know the intricate make-up of Vietnam.? Yet these two seem to know things that are way beyond what their years would imply.? I guess they?re just old souls.? But I won?t be convinced until I see them in person.?? I mean let?s start with the first page - a centered 30 line paragraph detailing the world you?re about to be transplanted into, which includes segments like: ?The Final Broadcast takes place in an era neither here nor there. It could be 2012 as easily as 1952. It?s a vacuum; an America that exists only in our collective unconscious. The kind of place Edward Hopper might have painted.?? Normally I?d slaughter writers for this.? The audience can?t see this paragraph. These aren?t titles or a voice over.? It?s never meant to be seen onscreen.? So if it?s not in the film, it shouldn?t be in the script! And yet I believe it?s indispensible to the story.? We need to understand this world.? We need to wrap our heads around its idiosyncrasies and rhythms and tone to understand how it?s going to play out on screen.? And this paragraph does that. So I?m in. Even though I?d never recommend anyone else trying it.? But what really sets these two apart ? and I probably mentioned this in their last review ? is how every single scene in their screenplay feels different.? Read the first 10 pages of Broadcast for example.? We get a monologue from a ?Carl Sagan Lite? character in some cheap PBS show about the origins of the Universe.? He tells us, in no uncertain terms, that our existence is pointless.? It?s jarring, unnerving, unsettling, and yet there?s a poeticness to it all that propels you forward. You need to read more.? You WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS NEXT ? the only thing that truly matters in a screenplay. So what does happen next?? Well, we meet a girl named Teresa Carnegie, who happens to be the daughter of the host of that show.? She?s watching a drive-thru movie with her friend when she?s kidnapped by some very nasty men.? Afterwards, we run into Gary Glossup, a transplant from the big city who?s just moved in to take over the local talk radio gig.? Gary?s DJ?ing career is turned upside-down when he receives a live call from the men who took Teresa.? They call themselves ?The Association? and proclaim that the end of the world is coming. Because the local cops are morons, Gary has no choice but to get involved in the investigation and save Teresa, a task that?s personal to him as he lost his own daughter many years ago.? So Gary buckles down and starts investigating the kidnapping, which brings him to another boy who went missing some weeks back named Billy Turman.? Rumors were that Billy was abducted by aliens.? But he was eventually found hanging from a tree during Halloween.? Everyone just assumed he was a prop, until the smell clued them in.? Gary?s helped by a strange young reporter named Claire who happens to be in town doing a report on a rare moon eclipse.? But when Gary finds out that her credentials don?t check out, he begins to wonder if she? telling him the truth.? As the eclipse draws near, more insanity begins to unravel, and Gary finds himself questioning everyone and everything around him.? All of this leads, of course, to a shocking conclusion.? You know that show The Killing?? You know how you?ll be watching an episode of it and you?re wondering why the f*ck nothing is happening??? But there?s still something entrancing about the tone and the characters that keeps you going?? And since you want to find out who killed that damn girl, you stick around?? Well imagine The Final Broadcast as the best episode of The Killing ever written times a thousand ? because it has that same kind of dark spooky tone, but it?s actually entertaining!? And because there?s some actual urgency to it (the eclipse ? ticking time bomb!) it moves where The Killing does not.? Speaking of urgency, I have to point out that while these guys do break their share of rules, the core dramatic storytelling pillars are in place.? You have the GOAL ? find the girl.? STAKES ? her life, as well as the lives of others the cult keeps kidnapping.? And URGENCY ? the impending eclipse, when they promise to kill Teresa by.? So with that core there, they can go off-book in a number of other places. Like the way they write their scenes. ?I?ve been Twit-Pitch Reviewing every night and not enough people are surprising me. I?m not talking about big surprises.? I?m just saying, when you write a scene, you have to know that TYPE of scene has been written tens of millions of times before.? So it?s ESSENTIAL you add a minor twist or two to keep it fresh.? ? I was just talking about this with a professional screenwriter the other day in fact.? She had a scene that had been in thousands of movies before but she still had to write it. ?Just the fact that she knew she had to approach the scene differently put her ahead of 99% of the writers out there, because most writers don?t think about that stuff. We talked it through and found a few new elements which would allow her to write a unique version of the scene, and it turned out rather well. So here, in The Final Broadcast, we have the sort of common ?femme fatale? trope.? Our hero sees the drop-dead gorgeous stunner at the end of the bar and we?re assuming we?re going to get that boring predictable ?one-up each other? clever dialogue laced with sexual subtext scene. Then, in the end, he?ll convince her to come home with him.? Instead, he buys her a drink from across the bar, she walks over, hands him the drink, says she doesn?t go out with men twice her age, and leaves.? The conversation is over before it even started. ?Hmmm,? I thought, ?that?s a little different.?? And the thing with this script is, it?s packed with dozens of moments like this. I can?t stress how important this is because it?s the only time I truly get excited by a screenplay these days - when I?m not sure how scenes or a story are going to unravel. That was my experience with ?Streetlights? and that was my experience here.? It?s rare that I give a writer two consecutive ?impressives? in a row.? Their follow-up is almost always a let-down.? But these guys have done it.? And in many ways, this is actually a step-up from ?Streetlights.?? It?s more structured.? It?s cleaner.? But it doesn?t quite reach the heights of that script and I think it?s because there?s a lack of character connection here. ??We really identified with and bonded with the main character in ?Streetlights.?? Here, it?s more about the story/the plot.? Luckily, the plotting and story were top-notch, which is why this still makes the ?impressive? pile.? I love these writers.? [? ] what the hell did I just read? What I learned: I always say ? don?t write 5-6 line paragraphs in a screenplay.? And I?ll continue to say that until my very last script read.? However, any rule can be broken if there?s a direct correlation between the rule and the writer?s strength.? These two are so good with prose, so smooth with their writing, that I actually ENJOYED reading their long paragraphs, which is incredibly rare.? Take for instance, this description of Gary: ?He was once a very handsome twenty-five year old.? However many years and many six-packs have softened his features a bit; softened everything but his old school heritage and sense of resolve. He?s a man cut from the same cloth as Newman or McQueen. The kind of guy they just don?t make anymore.?? That?s a long freaking paragraph.? But it flows so naturally and gives you such a great understanding of the character, that you allow it.? So a big part of breaking the rules is understanding your strengths. If you?re great at dialogue, you can get away with 8 page dialogue scenes.? If you?re great with prose, you can write longer paragraphs.? The trick is to never blindly assume you?re good at something. ?Make sure you KNOW.? Because that?s the reason behind a lot of bad writing ? writers assuming they?re good at something they?re not. ?Play to your strengths people!

(AP) ? Dario Franchitti has won the Indianapolis for the third time, taking advantage when Takuma Sato crashed on the final lap.

The Japanese driver went for the lead going into the first turn, pulled even with Franchitti but got too low, and it sent him into the outside wall. Sato's car barely missed Franchitti, who coasted across the line under a yellow caution flag to become the 10th driver to win at least three Indy 500s.

Franchitti's teammate, Scott Dixon, finished second. Tony Kanaan, who had the lead off the last restart with six laps to go, settled for third on a blistering day at the Greatest Spectacle in Racing.

Egyptian voters will choose from polar opposites in presidential runoff

Egyptian officials announced today that Mohamed Morsi, the Muslim Brotherhood candidate, and Ahmed Shafiq, Mubarak's last prime minister, will face each other in a June runoff.

The official announcement, which cannot be appealed, finalizes what many had suspected since votes were tallied Friday in Egypt?s first presidential election after a popular uprising pushed Mr. Mubarak from power. Mohamed Morsi, the Muslim Brotherhood?s candidate, and Ahmed Shafiq, a member of Mubarak?s former regime, will advance to a runoff in mid-June. Out of a field of 13 candidates, Dr. Morsi?received?nearly 25 percent of the vote, while Mr. Shafiq garnered 24 percent.

The election commission overseeing the vote said that about 46 percent of more than 50 million registered voters participated in the election. The commission also denied the appeals filed by several runner-up candidates, who alleged that fraud and violations had affected the results.

But the legal drama is not yet over: Egypt?s high constitutional court has yet to rule on a law passed by parliament that bans members of Mubarak?s regime from politics. Shafiq was disqualified under the new law, but the election commission reinstated his candidacy. Adding to the complications, the constitutional court is not expected to give the final word on the issue until just before the second round of voting.

Some Egyptians are upset that the two most polarizing candidates advanced to the next round with only a quarter of the vote each, while about half of those who voted cast ballots for neither one. Morsi and Shafiq have already begun maneuvering to woo those who voted for other candidates, particularly the non-Islamist ?revolutionaries,? many of whom reject both candidates.

Shafiq, who was prime minister as Mubarak tried to quell the uprising, and who has expressed his admiration of his former boss and his disdain for the revolution, changed his tune in a press conference Saturday. He addressed the young activists who sparked the revolution, saying, ?your revolution was stolen,? and pledging to return it to them.

Morsi, meanwhile, has called for meetings with the third- and fourth-place candidates, both of whom are seen as pro-revolution figures, in an apparent attempt to gain their support in the next round. Members of the Brotherhood?s Freedom and Justice Party have called on political forces to rally around Morsi to defeat the old regime.

Negotiations with other parties or coalitions will be difficult, however, given the promises the Brotherhood has broken over the past year, says Mustapha Kamel Al Sayyid, a political science professor at the American University in Cairo.

?They say something, but they do the opposite, and this does not encourage confidence in their promise,? says Dr. Sayyid. Over the past year, the Brotherhood went back on its pledge to contest only?30 percent of parliamentary seats, broke a promise not to run a presidential candidate, and sought to dominate the committee formed to write a new constitution, after pledging to make it an inclusive process.

Obama and Cory Booker: Fairness is essential to growth

Fairness isn?t inconsistent with growth; it?s essential to it. The only way the economy can grow and create more jobs is if prosperity is more widely shared.

By Robert Reich,?Guest blogger / May 26, 2012

President Barack Obama waves while speaking at the Fox Theater in Redwood City, Calif., in this May 23 file photo. Reich argues that Obama needs to stress the importance of economic fairness for a thriving economy.

The Cory Booker imbroglio has ignited a silly but potentially pernicious debate in the Democratic Party between so-called ?pro-growth centrists? who want the President to focus on how well he?s done getting the economy back on its feet after the Bush administration almost knocked it out, and ?pro-fairness populists? who want him to focus on the nation?s widening inequality and Wall Street?s (and Romney?s) continuing role in generating profits for a few at the expense of almost everyone else.

Robert is chancellor?s professor of public policy at the University of California at Berkeley. He has served in three national administrations, most recently as secretary of labor under President Clinton. Time Magazine?named him one of the 10 most effective cabinet secretaries of the last century. He has written 13 books, including ?The Work of Nations,? his latest best-seller ?Aftershock: The Next Economy and America?s Future," and a new?e-book, ?Beyond Outrage.??He is also a founding editor of the American Prospect magazine and chairman of Common Cause.

According to the National Journal?s Josh Kraushaar, for example:

Conversations with liberal activists and labor officials reveal an unmistakable hostility toward the pro-business, free-trade, free-market philosophy that was in vogue during the second half of the Clinton administration?.. Moderate Democratic groups and officials, meanwhile, privately fret about the party?s leftward drift and the Obama campaign?s embrace of an aggressively populist message? [T]hey wish the administration?s focus was on growth over fairness.

This is pure bunk ? or should be.

Fairness isn?t inconsistent with growth; it?s essential to it. The only way the economy can grow and create more jobs is if prosperity is more widely shared.

The key reason why the recovery is so anemic is so much income and wealth are now concentrated at the top is America?s the vast middle class no longer has the purchasing power necessary to boost the economy.

The richest 1 percent of Americans save about half their incomes, while most of the rest of us save between 6 and 10 percent. That shouldn?t be surprising. Being rich means you already have most of what you want and need. That second yacht isn?t nearly as exciting as was the first.

It follows that when, as now, the top 1 percent rakes in more than 20 percent of total income ? at least twice the share it had 30 years ago ? there?s insufficient demand for all the goods and services the economy is capable of producing at or near full employment. And without demand, the economy doesn?t grow or generate nearly enough jobs.

Wall Street is part of the problem because it?s responsible for so much of the concentration of income and wealth at the very top ? and for much of the distress still felt in the rest of the economy after the Street nearly melted down in 2008.

The Street has turned a significant part of the economy into a giant casino involving mammoth bets with other peoples? money. When the bets go well, the rich owners of the casino (Wall Street executives, traders, hedge-fund managers, private-equity managers) become even richer. When the bets go sour, the rest of us bear the costs.

The casino also requires continuous transfers of wealth from ordinary taxpayers. Some are built into the tax code. One is the preference of debt over equity (interest on debt is tax deductible), which awards Wall Street banks like JPMorgan for risky lending and awards private-equity firms like Bain Capital for piling debt on the firms it buys.

Another is the ?carried interest? rule that, absurdly, allows private-equity managers (like Mitt Romney) to treat their income as capital gains even when they haven?t risked any of their money.

The biggest of all is the invisible guarantee that if the biggest banks get into trouble, taxpayers will bail them out. This subsidy reduces the big banks? cost of capital relative to other banks and fuels even more risky lending.

None of this is fair. It?s also bad for economic growth and jobs ? as we?ve so painfully witnessed.

Translated into presidential politics, all this means the President should be talking about fairness and growth and jobs, and explaining why we can?t have the latter without the former.

It also means he should be attacking Mitt Romney because Romney is part of?the system of casino capitalism that has harmed America and held back growth ? and Romney wants even less regulation of Wall Street (he?s vowed to repeal Dodd-Frank).

And because the budget Romney has put forth would gut public services vital to the middle class and poor, while cutting taxes on the rich and on corporations even more than they?ve already been cut.

In other words, Romney epitomizes the unfairness of the American economy in this new Gilded Age. For that same reason, Romney is the quintessence of an economic approach shown to be anti-growth and anti-jobs.
