Someone walked into a French Quarter strip club early Monday, shot an employee in the knee and robbed the business, according to authorities. The robber fled, and the New Orleans Police Department is now searching for him.
Police said the incident happened about 5:32 a.m. at 411 Bourbon St., the address of Little Darlings. After entering the establishment, which was closed, the robber struck a man who works there with a gun, shot him and stole an undetermined amount from the business, said officer Garry Flot, an NOPD spokesman.
The victim's injuries are not life-threatening, Flot added. No other information was immediately released.
The shooting on Bourbon is at least the third that officers have responded to around the city since late Sunday afternoon, and one of those incidents was deadly. In the first of the earlier shootings, a 30-year-old was slain in the parking lot of the London Lodge Motel in the 9300 block of Airline Highway in Hollygrove about 5:30 p.m. Sunday. There had not been a murder in New Orleans since Oct. 23.
Little more than two hours later, a man was shot in the hip in the 500 block of Socrates Street in Algiers.?Police have not named any suspects or motives in Sunday's attacks.
